a few months of preparation of the six paintings in this exhibition. In the open section, I put the two portraits that formed the diptych “mother and son”. these are portraits in oil of firstly my daughter Georgia at age 2 1/2 years holding a duckling. I took this photo many years ago, and was always fond of this photo. I made the decision to paint it in oils along with another painting in a similar pose of my grandson at approximately 3 years old holding a hen.
in the acrylics/oil section, I exhibited “rowing on the manning” in oil, “the hen and her brood” in acrylics, “life of the farm” (nude on tractor) in acrylics, and “Saxy nude” (seated male nude playing the saxophone) in acrylics.
I have noticed that people like to see the process by which I create the finished products. I often take i-pad photos of the stages of my paintings, mainly for my own records and for future reference. I shall create a blog under the title the creative process to record these.
