The Wreck Series 2017 is based on a trip to Point Hicks in Croajingalong National Park, SE Victoria in August 2016 where we photographed the wreck of the SS Saros. The Saros was wrecked on rocks near the shore during a storm on Christmas Day, 1937. No lives were lost. Some years later, the wreck was washed onto the shore. I took a photo of John standing within the wreck itself, which indicates the size of the wreck. John took many photos around and through the pieces of the wreck, and the series is based upon these. So far, only five paintings have been done, but there are many others pending.
